Finally left on 7th August and arrived in Cape Town on the morning of 8th. A pretty good flight with South African Airways with loads of movies to watch. Managed to see Shrek 2 - highly recommened and some crap film with Pierce Brosnan.
Only had a quick look at Cape Town but it seems like a nice place. Going to check out the local bars and restaurants tonight. Went to the Cape of Good Hope today (the tip at the bottom of Africa) where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. Check out the photo of me next to the sign:
Going to Table Mountain tomorrow weather permitting, it has been a bit cloudy the past day or so which leaves the mountain shrowded.
I have now joined up with the overland group who seem a cool crowd and we start the trip north tomorrow. First stop is through the wine groing area where we make camp for the night. We then head further north towards the border with Botswana. We are travelling in a converted Belgium Army Mercedes truck - check out the picture below:
It is very roomy inside and gives a great view - the back is given over to all the luggage, tents, BBQ etc!! We are staying in a hotel at the moment so havn't started the camping bit yet.
I see from the news that Jenson Button is causing some problems for BAR/Williams -> here. I think Williams is the best bet for him to win the world championship next season and with Webber on board a real shot at the constructors.
Not sure where my next post will be from but keep checking for updates.
